Update: the load chart card taped to my cab window saved a mess in Savannah
Had a 12,000 lb HVAC unit swinging over a parking deck off Bay Street last week when the outrigger started sinking into a soft spot, so I stopped the pick, called it out on the radio, and we cribbed it up with 4x4 pads before anyone moved an inch more, and now my rookie keeps asking why I looked at that card before I even started booming up, so what's your go-to check before a pick on sketchy ground?
