PSA: I thought the anti two block alarm on our 40 ton was overkill until last Tuesday
Honestly I used to just tune that alarm out when I was booming down fast on a tilt up job, figured it was just another beeper to ignore. Last Tuesday on a site off Highway 6 in Sugar Land I was booming down with the block creeping up and the alarm went off right when I still had maybe 4 feet of headroom. If I had another half second of inattention that block would have tagged the boom tip and I do not want to know what that repair bill looks like. I checked the limit switch after that and it had a loose connector that would have killed the alarm within a week or two. Anyone else had one of these save their bacon, or do you run yours with the switch bypassed?
