Heard a guy at the hardware store say he'd never check his own rigging, and it made me think about trust on site

Wait, he'd never check his own rigging at all?

My old foreman used to say trust is something you earn with your eyes. He made us do a two man check on every critical lift, no exceptions. It wasn't about doubting skill, it was about having a second set of eyes catch what a tired brain might miss. That hardware store guy is putting a lot of faith in someone else's bad day or rushed job. On a site, your life is quite literally in your hands and the hands of the person next to you. Blind trust is just not a safe habit to get into.

Ever try a buddy check before you even start the job?
