Had a crazy week with the new Liebherr LTM 1300 at the Denver site

We were setting 12 massive precast panels for a parking garage, and on Thursday the wind picked up way past the chart. My spotter, Mike, called up and said, 'The flag on the fence is straight out, we gotta stop.' I sat there for two hours waiting for a gust to drop below 15 mph, watching the clock tick. Anyone else ever have a job where the weather just ate a whole day's pay?

Wait two hours for a gust to drop? That's brutal. The wind chart is there for a reason, but watching the clock must have been maddening. Weather wins every time.

Been there with the waiting game, it's the worst. I always pack a book or load up a podcast now for those dead hours. Checking the forecast obsessively just makes it drag on longer. Sometimes you gotta just accept the L and come back another day.

Man, I used to be the guy pushing to wait it out, thinking we could beat the weather. That exact scenario, sitting in the cab watching the clock burn, changed my whole view. You realize that lost day is nothing compared to the risk of something going wrong in a bad gust. Now I see that downtime as just part of the job, not wasted time. It's the smart call, even when it drives you nuts.
