Finally got my 200-ton Grove over the weight limit check without a single re-rig in Tulsa last Friday

Been running cranes for 3 years now, mostly mobile stuff. Last week we had a job in Tulsa, a rooftop unit swap, and the lift plan had me at like 98% capacity on paper. I spent an extra hour checking the sling angles and pad placement before we even started. The inspector walked around, tapped the hook, and just signed the sheet. First time I didn't have to re-rig something after they looked it over. You veterans ever get that nervous feeling even when you know the math is right?

Honestly, that nervous feeling never really goes away, but it gets quieter the longer you do this. Ngl, I still double check my rigging twice on anything over 80% capacity even after 15 years. Did the inspector actually look at your math on the load chart, or did he just eyeball your setup and sign off? Cause I've had guys who check every sling angle and others who barely look at the paper, and I always wonder which one is gonna flag something that I didn't catch. What was your actual clearance on the pick, were you at like 97% or did you have a little more room?
