TIL asking for a video of the item running saves so much time
Had a guy in Dayton selling a used table saw for $150, drove 40 minutes, and the motor was completely shot. Now I ask every seller to send a quick video of it actually running before I leave the house, saved me from another wasted trip last weekend. Anyone else do this or am I the only paranoid one?

Five trips over the years and only one bad motor, but honestly that one was enough. I get the frustration though, a 40 minute drive just to find a dud is rough. I usually just ask for extra pics and a phone call if something feels off, seems less annoying for the seller. If they can't answer basic questions about the tool then I'm probably not driving out anyway.
