That one Saturday my jam jars outsold my booth neighbors in Spokane
Back in 2019 I had this random Saturday at the farmers market where I sold out of all 48 jars of huckleberry jam by 10:30 AM, which never happens. The funny part was I almost skipped it because my wrist was sore from stirring, but I went anyway and it was like everyone suddenly needed jam for gifts. The booth next to me sold candles and they only moved 3 items all day, so I felt awkward packing up early while they still had their whole table set up. I still think about that day whenever I doubt if the jam side hustle is worth the sugar costs and burnt fingers. Has anyone else had a single weirdly perfect market day that kept you going for years?

Honestly I used to think market days were mostly luck and you just had to grind through the slow ones. But that kind of Saturday changed my whole view on it, because it showed me how much timing and mood can flip a whole day. Now I treat every slow market as just the other side of that coin, and it keeps me going when the sugar costs pile up.
