Spent 3 months pricing my wood signs by the hour and barely made $4 an hour until I switched to a flat rate per design size
I was charging $18/hr and hiding the real cost of sanding and drying time, so now I set one price per size (like $25 for a 12 inch round) and actually make money, but I'm curious how the rest of you figure out your flat prices before you know how long a custom order will really take.
