My aunt said to stop taking custom cake orders under $75 and she was right
I run a small cake business out of my kitchen in Madison and I was saying yes to every $35 and $40 order that came through Facebook. My aunt, who baked for a bakery for 20 years, said I was basically paying myself $6 an hour after supplies and my time. I raised my base price to $75 in March and lost about 8 cheap orders but gained 5 bigger ones, so now I want to know if anyone else has a minimum price rule and where you drew the line.
