Lost my $60 farmers market spot to a guy selling 4 jars of pickles, now I bake for other vendors instead
Two Saturdays ago in Boise I showed up at 5am for the market and found a stranger set up in my usual corner spot, so I sold maybe 12 loaves all morning and went home with $85. Turns out the market board had rented my spot to a pickle guy selling 4 jars total, which is when I stopped believing a good corner was worth fighting for. Now I just sell sourdough to the coffee stand two blocks away, way less hassle and steady cash, but has anyone else ditched the booth and gone the wholesale route?
Man if a guy with 4 jars of pickles beat me out for a spot I'd probably just pack up my whole table and go home forever haha. But honestly the wholesale thing sounds way smarter, you get paid either way instead of gambling on foot traffic.
