Learned that Etsy takes like 30% of your sale after fees and shipping labels lol

Was setting up a little shop for my wife's knitted cat sweaters last weekend and ran the numbers, turns out you gotta price way higher than you think just to break even. Has anyone else found a better platform that doesn't eat half your profit?

Is it really that serious though? I mean yeah 30% is a chunk but for what you're getting in terms of traffic and payment processing it's not totally insane. Plus if you're just testing the waters with a few sweaters it's not like you're losing thousands.

Funny you mention that Jamie Taylor, reminds me of when my cousin tried selling knit hats and accidentally ordered 300 instead of 30.
