Had to pick between a $200 mixer and my grandmother's 1974 one

The antique is a workout but it whips cream in 40 seconds flat, so I kept it and spent the money on a vacuum sealer instead. Turns out the sealer broke after 8 uses, and now I'm eyeing that mixer again. Anyone else regret skipping the reliable upgrade for a gadget with a 1-star review?
