Update: Seeing more talk about grocery store loyalty cards tracking purchases

People are debating if those cards are just for discounts or if they collect data on what we buy. It's got me thinking about privacy every time I shop.

It's a trade-off for sure. The discount is worth it to me, and they already know everything anyway.

Sure, the discount is nice, but claiming they know everything? That's wild. Think about it, they have your daily routines from GPS data, all your online shopping habits, and even who you talk to. I once searched for a weird medical symptom and now every ad is about that. They connect dots we don't even see. It's not just knowing, it's predicting, and that's where it gets really unsettling.
