TIL my local zoo has a peacock that just screams at the glass all day

Honestly I went to the Riverside Zoo last Saturday with my niece and there's this one peacock near the reptile house that just parks itself in front of a mirrorlike window and screams for hours. I timed it, 45 minutes straight of this bird going off every 30 seconds while people just walked past like it was normal. My niece asked if it was trying to fight its own reflection and honestly I think she's onto something. The zookeeper told me it's been doing this for 6 months and they can't figure out why it won't stop. Ngl I feel like there's a deeper animal behavior conspiracy here about how zoos just let stuff slide if it makes a spectacle. Has anyone else seen a zoo animal doing something weirdly specific like this?

@zara_hill46 reminds me of a parrot at my local shelter that spent three years yelling at a toaster.

That peacock at Riverside has been doing that for months now, I saw it back in February when I took my son there. It's honestly kind of sad if you stop and watch it for a while, like the bird is just completely stuck in a loop. My cousin works at that zoo and she says the keepers tried covering the window but the peacock just moved to another reflective surface and started screaming there. Something about that specific bird just seems off, like it's either the most determined animal on the planet or the zoo is quietly hoping people find it entertaining enough to ignore how stressed it looks.
