The shift in 9/11 documentary tone over 20 years
I was watching a 2002 History Channel special on 9/11 and then compared it to a new Netflix doc from last year. The old one was all about the timeline and heroism, but the new one spent half its runtime questioning government timelines and building collapses. Makes you wonder who decided the narrative should change, and why it took almost two decades to happen?

Oh man, nothing says "aging" like watching conspiracy theories slowly creep into your documentaries over time. Next they'll be interviewing the pigeons that were there for their "truth".

My buddy Mike was in the Navy right after 9/11 and he watched that old History Channel doc like ten times in his barracks. Last month I told him about the Netflix one and he nearly spit out his coffee. He said the old one felt like a straight story we all agreed on, but the new one made him feel like we'd all been gaslit for years. Wonder what happened to make that switch happen so quietly.
