That guy who swore the moon landing was faked because of a shadow in one photo

My uncle Gary cornered me at a cookout back in 2019 and pointed out this one photo where the shadows didn't look parallel. He said it proved the whole thing was staged on a soundstage. I dug into it later and found out it's actually a perspective thing, the shadows converge like train tracks because of how the camera works. Still, got me to actually read NASA's own explanations instead of just trusting what I saw in documentaries. Anyone else had a family member send you down a rabbit hole that turned out to be mostly wrong?

oh man this hit home lol. my uncle steve spent like two hours at christmas dinner explaining why the moon landing was faked because the flag was waving in a vacuum. i just nodded and ate my mashed potatoes, but afterwards i looked up the actual science behind the flag having a support rod plus the astronauts twisting it as they planted it. honestly it taught me to fact check before i start nodding along at dinner tables, even if it means i gotta bust out my phone and google stuff mid conversation.

Wouldn't it be easier to just google it while Uncle Steve's talking instead of waiting til after?
