My retired neighbor told me to water my lawn at 4 AM instead of evening

I thought he was crazy until I tried it last July and stopped losing patches to fungus. Has anyone else had a neighbor give weird yard advice that actually worked?

Whoa, is fungus really that big of a deal?

Yeah @seanjohnson you wouldn't think a little moisture could mess up a lawn that bad but it really does. I was watering in the evenings for years before a neighbor told me the same thing and I brushed him off. After fighting brown spots for two summers I finally caved and switched to early morning around 5 AM and the difference was night and day. The grass stays drier through the night and that alone cut my fungus problems by like 80% at least.
