My brother in law said my moon landing take was lazy so I actually read the flight logs
He said quoting a 20 minute YouTube doc in a debate was weak so I spent a weekend on Apollo 11 transcripts from nasa.gov instead. Now I want to know what source actually flipped your view on a big one, mine was the onboard voice recordings.
Wait, you actually read the Apollo 11 transcripts from nasa.gov? That's wild to me because most people just watch a video and call it research. Did the onboard voice recordings really change how you saw the whole thing? Like, what did they say that a YouTube doc would never catch? I bet hearing the raw back and forth between the crew gives you a totally different feel than some guy narrating over stock footage. That's the kind of source I'd actually trust more too.
Reading transcripts doesn't automatically make you right though. Plenty of people dig up sources just to back up what they already believed, so the source itself isn't magic. The voice recordings are cool because you hear them fumbling with alarms and calling out landmarks, which is way more real than some slick narration. But that just means you did more homework, not that your take is now untouchable.
