Why does nobody talk about the difference a good bull float makes?
I used a cheap plastic one from a big box store on a garage slab last spring, and it left streaks and pulled up fines. Switched to a magnesium float for a patio job three days ago, and the finish was smooth as glass on the first pass. The weight and the way it glides just cuts the work in half. Anyone else find that the right tool changes everything, or am I just paying for a name?

You're just paying for a name. That plastic float works fine if you know how to use it. People blame tools for their own bad technique.

My buddy had the same issue with a cheap float, his finish looked awful. He borrowed a decent one and the difference was night and day, lol.
