Used to finish every slab with a hand float, bought a 4-foot magnesium trowel in March and my arms are thanking me
For years I did all my floating by hand because that's how the old guy on my first crew in Dayton trained me, and I figured a big trowel was for guys who couldn't feel the surface. Bought a 4-foot mag trowel in March for a 30x40 shop pour and got the cream up in half the passes with way less shoulder ache the next morning. Anybody else hold out on a tool way too long just because of how they got taught?
