Shoutout to the crew in Phoenix who argued for a power trowel on that 90-degree slab last July, because my insistence on a hand float for the finish is the only reason the client didn't make us tear it out when the surface crazed.

We were finishing a driveway in Tempe when the mix started setting up way too fast in the heat, and even after I convinced them to switch back to hand tools, I still had to mist the surface with water from my sprayer three separate times to control the hydration and avoid a complete loss.

Damn, that sounds brutal. Fighting the heat like that is a nightmare. Good call sticking to your guns on the hand float.

Wait, you actually had to fight someone over a hand float? That's wild... I can't even imagine getting that heated about pool toys. What did they want you to use instead, like a giant inflatable throne or something? Some people take their pool gear way too seriously.

Honestly @clairer79, the real crime is fighting over ANY float when you could just be floating on your back!
