Serious question, had a pour start setting up on me in the July heat in Phoenix
Was finishing a driveway slab off 24th St last summer and the mix started stiffening way faster than normal, around 85 degrees by 9am. I had the batch plant add a little water reducer on the next truck and started working in smaller sections with a shade tarp, which got the job back on track. Cost me maybe 40 minutes of extra labor but saved the whole pour. Anyone got a better move for hot weather pours or is a retarder from the plant the only real fix?
