Had a long talk with an old-timer about curing blankets

Met a guy named Frank at the supply yard who's been finishing since the 70s, and he told me I was babying my slabs too much with wet curing. Said he only uses insulated blankets and lets the concrete do its own work, no misting or wet burlap. Makes me wonder if I'm overcomplicating things for no reason, anyone else get told they're doing too much?
