Figured out my edges were crumbling because I was overworking the cream, not because of the mix
Been finishing slabs for 11 years and always got these raggedy edges on my hand floats, figured it was just cheap mix or the weather. Guy named Rob from a crew out of Fresno was on my job site last month and watched me hit a fresh edge like 6 times with the float, said I was pulling the cream right off it. Next pour I cut back to 2 passes and kept the float flat, edges came out clean for the first time in forever. Now I'm wondering how much else I picked up bad from my first foreman. Any of you had a habit that took another guy on site to point out?
