Warning: that $8 express bus upgrade in Seattle was a total rip

Paid extra for the express bus to downtown thinking I'd skip 6 stops, but it got stuck behind a stalled delivery truck for 25 minutes anyway. The regular bus that left 10 minutes later pulled up right behind us at the terminal. Has anyone else paid for a 'premium' transit option that ended up being pure theater?
