Unpopular take on the Red Line in Chicago

I rode the Red Line from Howard to 95th last Tuesday and honestly I think the whole "the CTA is falling apart" take is overblown. Sure the trains show up late sometimes, but I waited 4 minutes for my car and it was clean with working AC. Why does everyone act like a 10 minute delay means the system is doomed? Has anyone else had a perfectly fine trip recently?

Yeah but did your train almost catch on fire? My friend was on the Red Line last month and the brakes started smoking between Grand and Chicago, had to be evacuated and everything.
