The bus driver's note about seat dampers changed my whole view of transit work

Tbh I was annoyed this morning when my usual 7:15 bus showed up 10 minutes late, then I saw the driver post a handwritten note on the door explaining the rear seat shocks were being replaced after a pothole on Route 9 wrecked them last week. That tiny bit of info made me realize these folks deal with way more behind the scenes than I ever thought about. Has anyone else had a driver or station worker explain something that made you cut them some slack?

Saw a piece last week about how dispatchers track every pothole complaint like it's a treasure map. Turns out that Route 9 bump has been on their radar for months, just waiting for the budget to catch up. Makes you wonder what other invisible stuff keeps the wheels turning.
