The 6:15 bus used to be quiet as a library...
I caught the 6:15 into downtown like I always have, and for ten years that bus was mostly folks reading books or staring out the window. Now everyone's on speakerphone, and last Tuesday a guy was having a full argument with his boss right next to me. Has anyone else noticed their old quiet route turned into a rolling office?

That "rolling office" thing is exactly what I've been seeing. It's not just the bus either. I was in the grocery store checkout line last week and this guy next to me was on speakerphone negotiating a contract or something. A few years back people would have stepped outside for that call. Now it's like everyone forgot there's a difference between private and public space. The library got quiet while the bus turned into a conference room.

Isn't it kind of nice though, people feeling free to live their whole lives out in the open without hiding?
