My bus driver was right about the express route timing

Been taking the 42 bus downtown for months. Always showed up exactly when the app said. But this older driver, Jim, told me the express bus leaves 4 minutes early every day. I didn't believe him. Then last Tuesday I missed it by exactly 4 minutes. Had to wait 25 more minutes. Anyone else notice the app times are off like that?

You said "the app times are off" but I think you're giving the app too much credit. The app is just guessing based on some algorithm, the real schedule is printed on paper and posted at the bus stop. If you missed the bus, that's on you for trusting a phone screen instead of the actual timetable. The driver told you the truth, you chose not to believe him. Maybe the app is "off" because people like you report wrong times and it makes the whole system worse for everyone. Next time just look at the posted schedule and show up a few minutes early like the rest of us.
