Just logged my 500th trip on the 42 bus
I’ve been taking the 42 bus downtown for 18 months and I started tracking every ride in my phone to see if I could save time. Turns out I’ve spent over 200 hours on that bus, which is basically a whole week of my life gone. Anyone else ever add up their commute time and get a shock from the total?

Podcasts saved my sanity during those long commutes...

Read a study recently that said the average person spends about 55 minutes a day commuting, and over a lifetime that adds up to nearly a full year. Your 200 hours really puts it in perspective, especially when you consider what else you could be doing with that time. Glad to hear podcasts help, it makes the whole thing feel a little less wasted.

Read somewhere that if you add up all the time people spend commuting in their life, it equals about a year sitting in traffic. 200 hours is rough but at least you're aware of it.
