Hit 100 rides on the 7:15 express bus this morning

I started counting back in February when I realized I was spending more time on that bus than with my own family. This morning I hit 100 rides and the only thing that changed is the seat cushion is worn down in the exact shape of my backside. Anyone else track their commute miles or am I just making my own boredom worse?

My neighbor told me he read somewhere that the average commuter spends over 900 hours a year on the road. That's like 37 full days just sitting on a bus. Counting your rides might sound boring to some people, but it gives you a real sense of the time you're giving up. Maybe tracking it helps you feel a little bit in control of something that's out of your hands.

Doesn't tracking every minute just make the commute feel even longer?
