Had a bus card scanner die on me mid-turnstile yesterday morning

It was 7:45am at the Main Street Station terminal and the tap reader just FLICKERED and went dead as I was boarding. Had about 30 seconds before the 7:50 express left the platform without me. I ended up swiping my credit card on the emergency reader the driver pointed to, which added a $1.50 surcharge I didn't expect. The whole thing made me realize I've been relying on that same card for 4 years without ever checking its battery status. Anyone else ever had a transit card die at the worst possible moment and had to scramble?

Man, that's a rough morning but $1.50 ain't the end of the world.

Blew past a gas station the other day cause I was too lazy to stop, ended up running on fumes for 20 miles. $1.50 is like walking past a dollar on the ground man, you just shrug and move on. Ellis.robert you gotta pick your battles, and a buck fifty ain't one of them. I once dropped a $20 bill in a puddle and didn't even bend down for it, that's just life.
