Finally caved and bought a monthly bus pass - saved me $32
I was stubborn about paying per ride for 6 months on the 14 line downtown. Swiped my card 20 times a week at $2.50 each and never added it up. Yesterday I did the math and realized a $68 monthly pass covers everything. Wish I done this in January instead of burning cash. Anyone else avoid the pass for too long before switching?

$32 is $32 but you're acting like you found a cure for something. It's a bus pass, not a major life hack.

Nah come on, I get your point but it's more than that for a lot of people! When you're scraping by, $32 a month actually does make a real difference in what you can do or eat that week. Plus, for someone who's new to the city or trying to get to a job interview, having that pass means they can actually show up places without stressing over fare every single time. It's not a cure, sure, but it's a small win that adds up over the year, like $384 saved. For some folks that's groceries or a utility bill, so yeah, I think that's worth being a little excited about. Different situations, different wins, you know?
