Bus driver's comment made me rethink my whole morning route

Guy at my usual 7:15 stop in Portland told me I always board on the wrong side during rush hour, said the rear door saves me 4 minutes. I switched last week and now I actually catch the 7:55 transfer instead of standing around. Anyone else get a tip from a driver that totally changed their routine?

Driver told me the front door adds like 10 minutes because of all the people fumbling with cards, so now I always go for the back even when the bus is half empty. Tried it on the 14 line last Tuesday and ended up with a weirdo who wanted to show me photos of his cat collection. Cant say the time saved was worth that, but I still do the back door thing cause 4 minutes is 4 minutes.
