A pigeon just took my seat on the 7:15 express

We were stuck at the 34th Street station for ten minutes, and this bird flew right in, landed on the empty spot next to me, and wouldn't move. I had to get up and stand for the rest of the ride to Queens. Anyone else had a wild animal try to join their commute?

Seriously, it's like they're all just figuring out the city faster than we are. The wildlife here is basically freeloading on our whole setup.

Had a squirrel try to board a bus once. Just slowly wave your arm near it, don't make sudden moves. They usually get spooked and hop off at the next stop.

Ever notice how animals in the city just learn to use our systems? @ryan_price your bus squirrel story fits right in. I see crows at crosswalks waiting for the walk signal, and pigeons know exactly which subway cars spill the most fries. They're just out here living their lives, figuring out the human world on the fly.
