A guy on the 7:15 bus told me to quit racing the doors and now I can't stop noticing it
Rode the 42A into downtown last Tuesday and this older guy next to me saw me jog for the closing doors at the transfer point. He goes, "Son, you keep doing that and one day the driver won't see you." I kind of brushed it off. Then he said he drove a bus for 22 years and saw a woman break her wrist in a door because she tried to slip in at the last second.
Now I catch myself watching the doors on every trip and half the people on my route are lunging at them like it's a finish line. I missed my usual bus yesterday on purpose just to not do it. Felt weird standing there.
Anybody else changed how they board after somebody said something to them? Or am I the only one who got spooked by a stranger on the 42A?
