The way people ask for help on here is backwards
I keep seeing folks post stuff like 'my car won't start help' with zero details. No year, no model, no what they already checked. I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to help a guy on a Honda forum who just said 'engine makes noise.' Turns out it was a loose heat shield, not the engine at all. Why do people skip the basic info? Wouldn't it save everyone time if they just said what they tried first?

Honestly I used to be the person who just said "car won't start help" because I figured people would ask for details anyway. But your point about the loose heat shield really clicked for me, it's frustrating for everyone when you waste time guessing instead of starting with the basics. Now I try to list the year, what I checked, and any weird sounds upfront just to keep things moving faster.

@the_elizabeth yeah exactly, it reminds me of this time I tried to help a neighbor who just said "my internet is broken" and it turned out the power strip was switched off... two hours of resetting modems for nothing.
