Our neighborhood cleanup group almost fell apart over a scheduling app

I was sure using a shared calendar would make everything easier, but it just confused half the volunteers. After three people missed the last event, we went back to a simple group text and it worked way better. Has anyone found a good middle ground for planning local stuff?

We tried using a shared spreadsheet for our block watch meetings (which sounds simple, right?). It was a mess because people kept editing the wrong column. Now we just have one person text out the date and time a week before, and everyone replies yes or no. That's been working for about six months.

Feel you, @maryh96. I'd probably be the one messing up the whole spreadsheet by accident.
