My cheap compost bin fell apart after 3 months of rain

I bought this plastic compost bin from a hardware store for like 40 bucks. It was a round black one with a lid and a little door at the bottom. After just 3 months of sitting in my backyard through spring rains, the whole thing cracked and the door broke off. I live in Seattle so we get a lot of wet weather, but I didn't think it would crumble that fast. Now I have a pile of half-rotted food scraps just sitting there on the ground. Has anyone found a affordable bin that actually holds up in rainy climates?

Not sure why people expect 40 bucks to buy something that lasts. You get what you pay for with plastic bins especially in rainy climates.

Call me crazy @emery879 but spending 40 bucks should get you more than a bin that cracks after one winter.
