Wasted $150 on a flat top grill cleaner that did nothing

I bought a special chemical for cleaning my flat top grill last month because the guy at the supply store said it would save me time. Spent $150 on a jug of it and after three uses I realized it works exactly the same as plain white vinegar and water. The grease came off the same way and the chemical smell was awful. Has anyone else gotten tricked into buying expensive cleaning products that don't actually work better?

Plain vinegar and water works just fine for me too.

Oh bless you, that's really reassuring to hear... I was starting to think I was the only one who didn't like spending money on fancy cleaning stuff. Plain vinegar and water just works, doesn't it?
