Spent a whole afternoon fighting a floor drain that wouldn't unclog
I spent 4 hours on a Tuesday wrestling with a slow floor drain in the dish pit. Turned out a chunk of dried rice had hardened in the trap and none of my chemicals or plunging would touch it. Anyone else deal with drains that just refuse to cooperate?

...and of course it was rice. That stuff turns into concrete in pipes, I swear. You gotta hit it with boiling water first, then a wet/dry vac to suck out whatever's loose. If that doesn't work, a drain snake with a small head can break up that hardened chunk better than any chemical. I've used a shop vac to pull the debris right out of the trap, saves you from taking the whole pipe apart.

Oh man, @barbaraw16 I gotta disagree, boiling water just makes that rice swell up worse in my experience.
