Shoutout to the old cook who told me to stop wiping my flat top with ice

I was burning through $60 of blades a week scraping a black crust off my flat top at the diner on 5th, then he showed me a splash of white vinegar and a hot grill brick and it came off in maybe 20 seconds. Anyone else got a cleaner that works that fast, or am I just late to this?
