Our hood vents failed during a 300-person wedding in Charlotte

The whole kitchen filled with smoke and we had to move everything outside. Anyone have a good emergency plan for when your main extraction system goes down?

Honestly that sounds like a total disaster waiting to happen. Tbh @ramirez.blair is right about the prayer part, but we once just opened every single door and window in the place. It created a decent cross breeze that at least kept the alarms from going off again.

Yikes, that sounds like my personal nightmare. My only backup plan is a box fan and a lot of prayer, so maybe I'm not the best person to ask. What did you end up doing with all that food?

We just shoved everything into coolers with ice packs. It worked okay for a few hours.
