Finally had a Friday dinner rush go smooth as butter

Last Friday we did 86 covers and I didn't have to call a single extra hand or yell at anyone. The expo line just clicked and we were out by 10pm. Has anyone else had a shift where everything just flowed like that?

Real question is who's paying for it. You think the universe just hands out free nights without making someone else's life worse? Plenty of times I've gotten a smooth evening at work only to find out the guy on the next shift had to deal with a backed up grease trap or some drunk guy puking in the bathroom. Just last week I had a chill closing shift until I heard my coworker got stuck with a delivery truck that broke down in the alley. Something always gives somewhere.
