Pro tip: I thought saturation diving was the most dangerous job until I saw the stats
Read a report from the IMCA last week. Turns out, the highest fatality rate in our industry isn't saturation. It's surface-supplied air diving in inland waters. Found out the rate is nearly double. Always figured the deep stuff was the riskiest. Anyone else see this data and have it change their risk assessment?

Yeah, I always thought saturation was the worst too. That inland water stat really changed how I look at the whole job.

But is it really that big of a deal, @hernandez.troy? People work with water all the time.

Totally thought the same thing for years. Always figured the deeper you go, the bigger the danger, no question. Seeing those inland water numbers was a real eye opener. It makes sense when you think about bad visibility and all the junk down there, but still shocking. Definitely changed how I look at the whole field now.
