My old supervisor in Louisiana always said to keep a spare O-ring in your hood's neck seal, and it saved my dive yesterday when the primary one blew at 80 feet.

I was doing a hull clean on a barge in the Mississippi and the cold water hit my neck, but I had the spare right there in my wrist cuff and swapped it out in under a minute, so has anyone else got a weird spot they stash a critical spare part?

My backup mask strap lives in my drysuit pocket.

That "spare in the neck seal" trick is brilliant. I always kept my spare O-ring in a little pouch on my BC, but having it right there in the wrist cuff makes so much more sense for a fast swap. You just changed my whole setup plan for next weekend's dive.

Just don't forget which pocket has the snacks.
