Managed to clear a fouled prop without surfacing by using a knife from my tool belt
It was scary but figuring out the angle to cut the line without damaging the blades made all the difference.

Cutting line underwater? That's just asking for trouble.

Totally, that's a known trick from my old scuba class. Had to do it once in some thick kelp that wrapped around the prop shaft. The key is getting the blade right against the hub and sawing slow so you don't slip. Feels sketchy but it beats a real problem.
