Hot take: my old Kirby Morgan 17 vs the new 37 helmet for a month of harbor work
The 37's coms were just clearer, and I could actually understand the topside guy over the dredge noise. Anyone else make a switch that felt like a real upgrade?

Boat anchor" is a bit much. The extra weight is real, but you can't put a price on clear comms when you're down there. A simple helmet that gets you killed because you misheard an order isn't simpler, it's just worse.

Clearer coms are nice, but that new helmet is a boat anchor compared to the 17. The old one was just simpler, less stuff to break down there in the mud. Sometimes an upgrade is really just more things to go wrong when you're trying to get a job done.
