Diver down flag got tangled in a prop wash off Port Canaveral, nearly lost my buddy

We were doing a hull inspection on a barge last Tuesday and the current flipped my flag line around the thrusters, so now I zip-tie a second weight to the float and double-check the angle before anyone goes under, anyone else had close calls with gear getting sucked into wash?

Ziptie everything you can down there, I learned that the hard way with a kayak anchor line off Daytona that wrapped around a jet ski impeller. Seems like no matter how careful you are, water always finds a way to grab loose gear at the worst second. Every close call I've had comes down to some small setup thing I skipped to save time, so now I treat every rig like it's gonna get yanked around before I trust it.
