Unpopular opinion: that dusty long box at a garage sale in Toledo taught me more about collecting than any speculator ever did
Last month I hit a garage sale off Secor Road and the guy had a long box marked $20, mostly junk I thought. Turned out there were 6 issues of a low print indie book from 2009 in there that I never would have hunted for online. I bought the box for the fun of digging and ended up reading stuff I'd never pick off a shelf, which is the opposite of how I usually buy. Now I hit 2 or 3 sales a month just to see what falls out. Anyone else got a spot where the random boxes beat the actual comic shop?
